Overall, I had an amazing experience, Alhumdulillah. One major benefit of taking this journey with The Fifth Pillar was its small group size relative to other hajj groups. We had about 50 individuals, and at the end of the trip, we all developed a special bond that only another haji would understand. The organizers were always available to answer questions regarding logistics and the group had full access to Imam Magid. In addition to daily lectures, Imam Magid held numerous other formal and informal talks. These talks helped us not only to understand the rituals of hajj, but also to feel the spiritual side of hajj, and helped us better connect with Allah (SWT) and His Prophet (SAW). Sajjad took time out of his day during the peak of the suns heat to help me with my scavenger hunt for Jay namaaz & matching tasbeehs. I got special exit row accommodations both ways, and was even treated to dinner on the house. Sajjad was very well spoken and handled adversity well. This has been the trip of a lifetime and I’m so glad we chose The Fifth Pillar to help us with everything hajj related alhamdulillah! From the very beginning, Sajjad and Adam were offering a lot of helpful tips through their monthly online meetings. They were very transparent with everyone when problems arose and made sure that we knew our options and what needed to be done. They patiently answered questions (in person and on the WhatsApp group) that they had already answered numerous times before and were always ready for any new ones we had. They were always available to help during the trip itself, even when they themselves were tired and sick. They got us on the bullet train from Jeddah to Madinah, which wasn’t even something they had promised for our package. Imam Magid’s after fajr and after Isha talks and tours around Makka and Madinah were definitely my favorite part of this trip, and I wish there were more of them! They really helped me visualize parts of the prophet’s life with his companions and made everything seem more relatable. Imam Magid himself was always available to answer any fiqhi questions that anyone had, and offered his insight by telling numerous inspiring stories as he walked by members of the group anywhere, even on the walk to Jamarat! His sense of humor, flexibility, and approachability made everything way more enjoyable alhamdulillah! The program overall exceeded my expectations and I would recommend this group to anyone I know going for Hajj in the future. It was a very smooth and easy process from beginning to end and we had no real problems to complain about. I am really glad this group focuses first on the spiritual side of Hajj and prioritizes completing the Hajj according to the Sunnah of Prophet (S). This made for a more fulfilling journey of worship and reflection. It also allowed us to bond with our Hajj-mates more closely and Masha’Allah the people in our group were all so inspirational in their own ways. I learned a lot from everyone and felt a connection in such a short period of time that is truly unmatched. There are no words to fully express my gratitude to Imam Magid, Br. Sajjad, Br. Overall, Allhumdullilah I had an outstanding experience. Insha'Allah, May Allah (SWT) bless and reward the entire Fifth Pillar Team (Sajjad, Shehzad, Imam Majid, Dr. Isa, etc.) for all their hard work and commitment to ensuring that we have a safe, comfortable, and accepted hajj. In particular, the following areas jumped out at me as exceptional: (i) Great logistics at Great Value: - Overall, the Fifth Pillar Team provided great service at excellent value. In speaking to many friends and family who performed hajj with other operators, I felt that The Fifth Pillar provided equal or better service at lower costs. Insha'Allah, I hope the team is able to maintain a similar approach in the future and not get caught up charging more simply because other operators do so. (ii) Phenomenal Imam: I loved The Fifth Pillar's approach towards organizing a hajj group focused on the spiritual dimension. I cannot describe how grateful I am for having Imam Majid as our spiritual leader. First of all Imam Majid is super knowledgeable. Secondly, Imam M. has great communication skills. His English is terrific and his speaking style is engaging. Thirdly, Imam Majid was super generous with his time. I realize that he was traveling w/ his wife this year, but in spite of that, he made tremendous amounts of time to lecture and educate the group. This was my fourth Hajj, and Alhamdulillah this was by far the best Hajj experience I have had. The hotels were perfectly situated to make all of our salahs in the Haramain. Even though our tents in Mina were farther from the Jamarat than the last time I went, it was well worth it to be in the company of the group and Imam Magid. I would like to thank the entire team from the bottom of my heart, including brother Sajjad, brother Adam, Imam Magid and staff from Airlink and Dar es Salam. This was the first hajj for my wife and me and we truly had an amazing experience. This is the most memorable trip of my life and the organizers greatly contributed to its success. I am very greatly for all the extras that were added to the package at no additional cost to us, including two additional nights in Makkah and transfer by airplane from Jeddah to Medina. I also like the fact that we started the trip in Makkah. This really allowed us to prepare for the hajj since we were already quite familiar with the haram and its vicinity. The spiritual sessions from imam magid were also quite inspirational and helped further understand the meaning of the rituals that are performed during hajj.
